Check out what is metaverse and how it work in detail.

What is Metaverse and how it works?

It's a combination of multiple elements of technology, including virtual reality, augmented reality and video where users "live" within a digital universe. Supporters of the metaverse envision its users working, playing and staying connected with friends through everything from concerts and conferences to virtual trips around to the world.

"Right now, we are on the cusp of the next internet," said Matthew Ball, managing partner of venture capital firm Epyllion Industries, in a February 2021 essay on his website.

McDonald's has filed several trademark applications for a virtual restaurant that will deliver food both online and in person. The fast-food started to open a huge list of other businesses that have stated their intentions to profit from Web3, including the metaverse. On February 4, the business submitted ten trademark applications to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, covering both McDonald's and McCafe.

On February 6, Potterheads Dinesh SP and Janganandhini Ramaswamy held their Hogwarts-themed Metaverse wedding reception, which was also blessed by the bride's late father. They were joined by nearly 6,000 guests from all over the world for their virtual reception ceremony after their traditional humble wedding in Tamil Nadu's Sivalingapuram. It's being billed as Asia's first Metaverse wedding reception.

Following in the footsteps of marriages and malls in the Metaverse, banks are now establishing themselves in the virtual world. JP Morgan Chase & Co, one of the country's largest banks, has launched Onyx, a virtual lounge on Decentraland, a blockchain-based virtual world, where guests will be greeted by a virtual avatar of the bank's CEO, Jamie Dimon. Visitors will also be required to select a digital avatar to represent them in the metaverse. Gender, skin tone, hairdo, clothing, and accessories are all options.
